MAC – Heroine

Hello Dolls and Guys,

I got bored and was trying to walk off a little nausea from my first flight on my way back home to SLC from Kansas City. I ran across the MAC store in the Denver airport and decided to stop in (famous last words).

Anyway, I picked up two things while I was in there:

1) The lipstick color “Heroine.” It is a lovely matte purple color.

(Yes, this is a pic of my lips ☺️)

2) The Toledo Ombré blush in Azalea Blossom. I have heard awesome things about this blush from VintageorTacky so I am looking forward to trying this out tomorrow.

Have a super day!!!

Ulta Haul – Benefit

Hello, Dolls and Guys.

Here is a quick run-down of my first Ulta Haul of the month. There is an amazing sale going on right now. If you know what is good for you — you will get over there and check it out.

I have been meaning to try some different products from Benefit for a while. I had a sample of the “They’re Real” mascara and I wanted to see what else was new since it’s been about 8 years since I have used any of their products.

Throwback Time: You know, the original Benetint was my go-to back in my grad school days when I was tired and haggard looking and needed to make myself look not so “grad-student who has been up all night reading.”

Back to the present — this is what I picked up:

1) Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Brightening  Sunscreen Makeup in Toasted Beige. I just wanted to try this out. Unfortunately, my skin is in-between two colors. Therefore, I went for the lighter shade and will use some liquid bronzer to fix it. I, honestly, just want to see how my skin will do with it. I will let you know.

2) Posietint. This is a poppy-pink tinted lip and cheek stain. I tried this on in the store and I think it will be great as a stain to go under a lip gloss I just bought (more on that soon). Overall, it is a great color for the upcoming Spring into Summer!

3) Roller Lash Mascara. This is a super-curling and lifting mascara. I just love mascara…end of story. Also, anything that claims to curl my not-so-long lashes is worth a try.

I am looking forward to trying these out over the next few weeks! What are you picking up at Ulta this week?

March 2015 -Glossybox

Hello Dolls and Guys,

Here is my review of the March 2015 Glossybox

There are some fun items in this month’s box. Let’s get started!

First, there is the Ouidad “Color Sense Color Preserving” Shampoo and Conditioner. Its full-size retail value is $10 each. As I mentioned before, I have a trip coming up and my hair is color-treated….YES!!!

Next is the Orogold Cosmetics “24k Multi-Vitamin Day Moisturizer.” Apparently it really has gold in it. We shall see how it feels to rub gold on your face! It retails for $178!!!!!!

There is also the Modelco “More Brows Eyebrow Thickening Gel” in Medium/Dark. This retails full-size at $18.

I also received a treat that I got a few months ago in my BeautyBox5 box. It is the BellaPierre “Cheek and Lip Stain” in Pink. It retails full-size for $19.99. Dupes get to go in the travel make-up bag! It is a pretty pink that I think will work for most skin tones.

Last, but not least, is the So Susan Cosmetics “Concealer Quad” and it is a mix-and-match concealer that covers blemishes and minor imperfections. It retails full-size for $30.95.

I am looking forward to trying all of these items!

There’s also a side offer that is in my box. You can give your cellphone a case makeover from caseable.com and it’s a voucher with a code that varies from $5 to $100 and you find out how much the code is worth when you make your case and then enter the code at checkout. We shall see if I get around to using this before it expires ;-).

What did you receive in your Glossybox this month? Let me know!

March 2015 – Birchbox

Hello Dolls and Guys,

Here is my Birchbox review. I opted for the Beauty Solutions box this time around and I am glad that I did. I am heading to Kansas City on Wed. for a conference. Some of these items will come in handy!

First up is the Whish “Three Wishes Body Butter” in Almond. The full size normally retails for $24. This one is almond scented and I am loving that! It comes in all sorts of scents. I have used the lavender scented one before. I like the texture of these so I am excited to take this with me to K.C.

Next Up, is the Dear Clark “Volumizing Hair Tonic.” The full size retails for $26. So, yeah, the last thing my hair needs is more volume so I will be giving that away. I am sure someone at the place that holds my paycheck will want it.

I found this awesome thing in my box…

This is the derma e “Evenly Radiant Brightening Day Creme.” This has SPF 15 in it and the full size retails for $27.95. Excited to take this to K.C. I can always use travel size face moisturizers.

To continue with this theme of travel-size things I can always use:

This is the Supergoop “Advanced SPF 37 Anti-Aging Eye Cream.” Wait…since when did SPF 37 become a thing? What ever happened to good ol’ SPF 35? Anyway, I am always going to be happy with a travel size eye cream.

Last, but not least, I received a Laura Geller Beauty “Baked Blush-n-Brighten” in Sunswept.

It is a multi-hued blush and highlighter combo. This looks fun and since I am playing around with contouring, will come in handy.

I am excited about my Birchbox this month. What did you receive in your Birchbox?

My January Onxy box….in Feb

Here is my first unboxing for Onxy box. It is geared towards women of color and gives all sorts of fun hair and body products.

My January box came in the middle of February. They contacted all the subscribers to let them know that they were running late/behind on this box so I’m not too worried about the fact that it came as late as it did.

Let’s get started Dolls and Guys….

IMG_2207

The card included in the box does not give a whole lot of info about the products included within.

It came with a Shea Moisture Olive and Green Tea Body Lotion.

IMG_2206

There is also a Biao Beauty Rejuvenating Cleanser. This is a full-size product!

IMG_2202

Next, is a Beija Flor creme brûlée for kinks, curls, coils.

IMG_2203

A Penelope J Jasmine Floral Water and Toner.

IMG_2205

Lastly, there is a packet of samples from Anu Essentials. This should be fun. I like to explore new products.

IMG_2204

I am not sure how much longer I will keep subscribing to this particular box. Not that I don’t like the products in it, but I think my hubby is getting a little upset at the amount of boxes that come flying through the door!

We shall see what makes the cut!

Until next time!

February Glossybox

I just started subscribing to Glossybox. You’ll see from earlier in the week that I had a review of that first box. This second box is far more exciting than the first.

My February Glam Bag from Ipsy

Hello Dolls and Guys,

I am here with my February glam bag from Ipsy! I’m really excited about some of the products that came in the bag. Admittedly, some of the products I’m not quite sure what they are. Actually, I just mean one product. I don’t know what it does but I am looking forward to trying it out.

So let’s get started!

IMG_2188

IMG_2193

1. There is a Cargo lipgloss in Anguilla.

IMG_2190

2. A Model Co. blush in Cosmopolitan 01.

IMG_2191

3. A Rob Scheppy for ‘tini beauty powder eyeshadow in Pearl Fizz.

IMG_2192

5. A “Hey Honey” take it off exfoliating honey peel off mask. So, this was the product I didn’t understand. I am going to go ahead and admit the reason I didn’t know what it was is because I didn’t flip it over. I WAS LOOKING AT THE BACK OF THE PRODUCT. Apparently, I need more sleep if I didn’t have enough sense to just turn the stupid thing over.

IMG_2189

6) A Luxie 504 Large Angled Brush. I am really excited about the new brush. I am definitely trying it out tomorrow morning!

IMG_2187

I am excited about the February Glam Bag. I don’t know if you all are subscribers but if you’re looking for a subscription bag with some fun treats for only $10 a month — this is the way to go!

My first Glossybox

Hello Everyone,

Lots of YouTube channels have raved about the awesomeness of Glossybox so I decided to give it a whirl.

My January box is…ok. I am not positive I like this box anymore than some any of the other things I subscribe to (such as Birchbox, Ipsy, Wantable, etc).

IMG_2029

IMG_2028

My box did come with come interesting stuff, however.

I received a Hello Fresh gift card for $40.00. Hello Fresh is like some of the other services where you order meals and they deliver the ingredients to your house for you to cook the meals. I like to cook and experiment with new recipes but, I have to admit, I find these services too expensive, and wasteful in terms of their packaging.

The box came with a Mastey Color Protecting Leave In Oil Treatment.

IMG_2162

A Kryolan highlighter in Cashmere.

IMG_2159

A Benefit They’re Real Mascara.

IMG_2160

A Vince Camuto Amore eau de parfum

IMG_2161

(Super cute packaging)

And a Sesha Cell-White Brightening Mask.

IMG_2158

Decent box but I am not super impressed. I will probably try it out one more month and if I am still not impressed, I will get rid of it as a subscription.

What are your thoughts on Glossybox? Maybe I just didn’t get an exciting box.

February 2015 Birchbox

Hello Dolls and Guys,

Here is my Feb 2015 Birchbox review. This month I opted for the special curated box “Rent the Runway.”

It came with a coupon for $30 off an order of $75 or more at Rent The Runway. To be honest, I am not going to use it so if you want the code (first come, first serve), leave me a comment and I will contact you to give it to you.

There are some items that I know I will use and one that I will end up giving away.

IMG_2181

IMG_2176

IMG_2177

Let’s do the one thing I will give away first. I got a cute sample of the Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo. Full size it retails for $10-20. I’m not a dry shampoo kinda gal so I will probably give it to one of my colleagues at work.

IMG_2178

The box also came with stuff that I can never get enough of — eyeliner and lip gloss.

There is the Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner. It retails for $11-21, full-size.
Also, my box came with theBalm Read My Lips in “Bam.”

IMG_2180

Next, is the Not Soap, Radio Body Wash in (get ready for it) “The stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in.”I I have to admit, I love the names for their “flavors” of product. It retails for $16.

Last, but not least, a product I probably need but don’t want to admit to it — derma e’s Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub which retails for $12.95.

IMG_2179

All in all, my Feb. Birchbox was worth it! Did any of you get one this month? What do you think of yours?
